Welcome to my Writings page. I enjoy creative writing and poetry writing, so I decided to post a small sample of my stuff.

Please note that I do not post much original fiction, as it is, as the name states, original, and the idea, characters, and actual story are mine. I have several short stories here for now, but don't expect a novel or anything longer than 1-2 pages. :)

Also, please note that I do not claim to take any credit for JK Rowling's masterpieces, the Potter books. I am a Potter fan. The links in IKYFB that say home take you to my Hogwarts, as it's posted there... sorry....

· Original Fiction
I took Trapped in My Mind down (as I'm rewriting it and turning it into a novel, whoo!) so here're some short stories I've written. I'm not saying they're any good, they're just one-shot things I've written.

I recently entered six of my stories into the 2005 Scholastic Writing Awards for Central PA... all six won something. The two golds went onto national competition, and both won one each of the 1200 writing awards.

Zealia Heartoak, sister of a werewolf, is homeschooled in magical arts until her parents die mysteriously from Voldemort in the peak of his reign. She starts her sixth year at Hogwarts in the same age that Harry's parents attend; she finds some things out that she didn't expect.
[Written because I was majorly bored. Approx. 135 pages. Incomplete. It's staying that way. Dang Mary Sues.]

I'll put the link just in case anyone's interested. Also check out my favorite stories for some other great fan fiction. I've posted several Potter stories, an ATBG one, and a Matrix one. Fanfiction.net is the best place for Potter fan fiction I've found so far, but do proceed with care. Some people (me included) have somewhat twisted minds. :P (In clearer words, for the idiots out there who'll click anyway, SLASH, as in male/male stories. :P If it's not your cup of tea, I advise you not click that little link up there, as that is pretty much all I write in the fan fiction department.)
If FFN is down, try the AW catsncritters archive instead. Probably loads faster anyway.

· Rants & Day-to-Day Ramblings
I have a [old] rants page right on this site, but I also have three or four blogs. One is very personal and won't be linked to, and the other two are DoaSO and JaSO (the first is updated veeeeery often, the second is updated in little bits and has shorter entries, for the most part, unless they are just lyrics, which is what I've been mostly posting, heh). Just.A.Ramble (or JaR) is an idea-in-progress, which you can find here. You can apply to be a rambler too!

I usually work on several stories at a time. This is a list of the stuff that is still valid (in a matter of speaking). The original fiction works on this list will not be posted on AW - I have hopes of possibly publishing them. O.o
Trapped in My Mind - rewrite; original fiction; have hopes of getting it published when completed; I wouldn't call it my main focus, but it is a novel and I go to it when I don't want to write other stuff or start a new story
The Gift - just started it, I have a great idea for it; original fiction
A War of Two Kinds - not my focus anymore, have writers' block; HP fan fiction; posted at FFN; probably won't be continued ^^"
Switched - yet another HP fan fiction with an original idea for once; posted at FFN
Love and Hate - an As Told By Ginger fan fiction; posted at FFN
Stalker - another story I just started with an excellent idea; original fiction
Klutz - another new original fiction, whee.
Four Hours - currently just an idea for a RW/SS slash story, but it will materialize into a story once I've finished Switched.

· The 'IdeaBook'
All writers should keep an 'IdeaBook' of some kind, whether it be for fiction, poetry, or essays. It's basically a plain notebook with an explanation in the front, then ideas throughout the rest of the pages.
I keep one... in each entry, I write the date at the top and a brief description of it, such as 'short story idea' or 'title ideas'. The rest of the page is taken up by a plot outline, a conversation, a catchy summary (like you see on the back of books, heh... I write them in there a lot), or a timeline of sorts.
Some examples of things to put in your idea book if you're stumped: story starters, title ideas, bits of a conversation with a friend, memories of something you've experienced for memoir-writing, ideas for characters that you can use when you want, rhymes, or something you want to explain in your story. Pretty much anything inspiring goes.

I do not have any here yet, but here are some starters for you to write your own. I got these from different places, some of which are from 7th grade English classes.
What is your most prized possession?
What is something not many people know you are good at?
Where were you and what were you doing when you heard about what happened on 9/11/01?
Describe a first in your life.
What is something that you are very proud of?
Do you tend to lie a lot?
If you could find your way into your favorite story, what character would you play? What would happen?
Did you ever get lost? Where? How did you feel then and afterwards?
If you knew that tomorrow was going to be the last day of your life, what would you do all day?
