Current Projects

More ideas than I know what to do with.

I am almost always working on something. The things below are what I am focused on at the moment.

Teaching Myself to Code

I am currently learning Ruby on Rails and Bootstrap using online training resources like Codecademy and Code School. I have ideas for projects and I want to learn how to code them! For starters, in July 2015 I completed the "Blasting Off with Bootstrap" course on Code School and then hand coded this site in one weekend.

Originally created as a viral news blog created in the style of Viral Nova and Upworthy, Cleverpedia is a fun side project that has taught me a lot about growing an engaged social community and reaching broader audiences. Currently, Cleverpedia's focus has shifted to focus on the adult coloring books trend. I'm also maintaining the biggest list of coloring clubs in the United States, check it out.

Freelance Writing

I have always loved writing. In school I won several Scholastic Awards for my writing, and I even considered majoring in creative writing. My job has given me the opportunity to do some writing, but to really get my fix (and help supplement my income) I also do some freelance writing. You can see some of my work in my portfolio, or get in touch if you are looking for a freelance writer!

WordPressionist is a blog about making the most of the WordPress platform. Working with WordPress heavily for the past several years has made me a huge WordPress addict. This is the place where I write about what I learn.
